Sawmill operators can add value to their production by cutting to order such products as flooring, or by performing finishing or machining. A majority of the members of the Wood Component Manufacturers Assn produce such products for makers of furniture and cabinets. Guidelines to success in producing such components include choice of a location near timber and use of high quality machinery.
